In April 2018, Nestle Company of Nigeria joined forces with the Mimijane Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and children with disabilities, to launch an empowering initiative in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. The collaborative effort aimed to provide women with disabilities an opportunity to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations by offering them financial assistance to establish small and medium-scale businesses.
Through this partnership, Nestle Nigeria and the Mimijane Foundation recognized the unique challenges faced by women with disabilities in accessing economic opportunities and sought to address this disparity. By offering cash grants specifically tailored for business start-ups, the initiative aimed to empower these women, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute to their communities.
